What is infertility?
Infertility is an agonizing condition affecting 6 to 11% of women in the United States. Causes for infertility include elevated levels of Fallopian Stimulating Hormone, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Premature Ovarian Syndrome, Endometriosis, blocked Fallopian Tubes, and unexplained infertility. Regardless of the cause, this condition is challenging both physically and emotionally, and can leave you feeling discouraged by limited treatment options.
How can we help?
Physical therapists use manual therapy to improve the mobility of soft tissue structures in the pelvis, including the reproductive organs. Our intention is to influence tissue adhesions and restrictions in the ligaments, muscles, and fascia within the pelvis. Through this approach, we can improve circulation of blood and lymphatic fluid to aid in the treatment of both structural and hormonal causes of infertility.
A recent study demonstrates the efficacy of manual physical therapy in reversing female infertility attributed to:
- Occluded Fallopian Tubes
- Hormonal Dysregulation
- Unexplained Infertility
In addition, manual physical therapy has been shown to increase successful in vitro cycles (IVF). We are happy to work with you and your physican during any infertility treatment to increase your chance of success.
Our gentle treatment approach may include:
- Myofascial Release
- Visceral Mobilization
- Trigger Point Release
- Strain/Counter-Strain Technique
- Myofascial Decompression
- Scar Tissue Mobilization
- Soft Tissue Mobilization
We are experienced in all of the treatments mentioned above. If you need help, call us today.
